Downtown

This writing came from me spending many nights praying and hoping for Midland to be released from it bonds and be opened to the new mighty move of our Father. This one just kept coming to me like a prayer that i repeated more and more over the nights that i spent there downtown Midland, TX.

I'm downtown
It's dark, i can not see
The wind is blowing
but i don't know where its going

I'm downtown
It's dark, i can not see
the world is turning
But who is it we're really serving

When I'm downtown
these prayers never cease
for gates to be opened
and hearts to be softened

It's late now
I can almost tell
water flowing
the desert blooming

When I'm in town
the lights catch my eye
they can hypnotize me
mesmerize me

When I calm down
my smile becomes a frown
the masks that hide away
the death in this place

Oh ABBA
ABBA Father
open wide theses rusty gates

Starting again with "Stupid Hours"

Well, to everyone who is reading this, sorry it has been forever for a new post. Let us pray i can be more like the spirit of Christ and be self disciplined.

So hear is a poem i wrote based upon a list Matt, Todd and myself had on our fringe while we lived together in Midland. The list had many items to do or try and one was to write a silly song, well this isn't really a song (first, because it has no music, second, because its not being sung) but i think its stands on its own well enough.

Stupid hours
Beautiful sunflowers
Silly Songs
Wind burnt and sunblown

Tea parties
Car wrecks
Pay checks
Sudafed

My prayer life
Your neck tie
An alien ship
Blown away tent

It makes so much since
sitting on the fence
after deciding
to be indecisive

Hogties
Coconut pies
Diet coke
with lots of fries

Coffee cup
Full of mud
Chocolate pie
For the flies

Two dollar water
Book in a bottle
Wool mittens
in hells kitchen

It makes so much since
sitting on the fence
after deciding
to be indecisive
